This question has a few different parts that I can address. First, I think you are misunderstanding what The Poet represents for me. He isn’t an “imaginary friend” that I wish to elope with. He represents a part of me. Carl Jung called it the Animus for women; our masculine subconscious mind. For men, this concept is called the Anima, which represents their feminine subconscious mind. The Poet also signifies feelings that I experience/have experienced. In a way he is the energy of many different incarnations and lifetimes. The Poet is a figure that frequently appears in my astral happenings, but he is not confined to only my dream-space. In daily life, there are manifestations of his energy. In places, people, songs, books, movies, etc. I also view his function as a kind of muse/spirit guide, though I think that the latter term is a bit constraining.
I do not think escaping into an astral world is really possible, because we already exist in the astral and therefore cannot “escape” into it. My understanding and beliefs regarding the astral are in line with the theory of a multiverse; I believe that there are an infinite number of realms/dimensions/timelines that exist superimposed over our own. All of them are happening at once, and we float between these different realms constantly. Dreams, daydreams, visions, they are all “realities” in their own way. I have a deep affinity for stories that tell of a hero being transported to a foreign world to embark on some great adventure. I think most people find this archetypal story appealing in some way- we often get bored of the mundane world and wish to escape into a reality that has more excitement and colors.
As far as The Poet manifesting himself in our current timeline/physical reality, he already has. I see facets of him in my boyfriend, in little things- his intellect, his sense of humor, his eyes, his dominance, the way we connect more deeply than I have with anyone else. And since The Poet is this conglomeration of feelings, sensations, thoughts, and dreams, he weaves himself into my life in a tangible way that does not need to have one single form of expression.
Hopefully this shed some more light on the concept, though it is all very woo-woo and out there. 😅Thanks for the ask!
